About

 Katalin Lippay (Kat),

This creative force got her induction into the beauty industry as a teenager when she shampooed hair at a local salon on Saturdays. By the age of seventeen, she had completed three years of academic and Cosmetology studies and graduated an honour student with a Cosmetology license. With that and a passion for people, she entered the working world at full speed. Today she can say she’s had a lifetime of experience in the beauty industry. Always striving to break down misconceptions and the stereotypical hairdresser mold, she has enjoyed a vast career working the many different capacities of Cosmotology.

While working in a salon Kat continued with her studies to learn all she could technically and developed her communication skills ensuring her clients felt comfortable in her presence and her ability. She became good at sensing just what her clients were looking for.

While working for a large western Canadian salon chain she became involved in teaching and this grew into her becoming the director of training for their Alberta division. During this time, she co-authored a 7-day orientation program and implemented a client retention program.

Hollywood beckoned, Hollywood north that is, and she found herself styling hair on many Film and Television productions in and around Vancouver, BC. You can see a list of some of the productions she’s been a part of on the IMDb website. Her work has been seen in print, on billboards, the small screen and big screen.

She is an active member of the I.A.T.S.E 891 Hair Department as well as ACFC and has been fortunate to be a part of such productions as Devil In Ohio, Brazen, Mighty Ducks(The Series) & Julie & The Phantoms to name few. She received a Daytime Emmy Nomination for her work on Julie & The Phantoms in 2021.
